Jean Guo (Konexio) and Victoria Mandefield (Solinum)

These two flagship associations of the Tech for Good, potential future nonprofit unicorns will benefit from a three-year funding and the operational support of the Ring Capital ecosystem to help them deliver their mission.

Konexio, the digital training for all

There is little chance that this name will be new to you but, just in case, Konexio offers people who are far from employment (young people from Priority Urban Neighborhoods, refugees, unemployed women, people changing careers, etc.) the opportunity to follow programs from digital illiteracy to certification courses for work in the tech industry.

Konexio has deployed in 3 regions in France but also worldwide: in Malawi, Jordan and Kenya. There, digital training courses are offered to work through freelancing platforms.

Founded in 2016 by Jean Guo, the association is experiencing growth equal to that of a start-up. It faces the same challenges of deployment and internationalization to quickly establish itself within 5 years in 10 countries and 40 cities. The organization also plans to make its voice heard through its advocacy and in particular its proposal on the creation of a universal right to digital training.

Having Ring Capital’s expertise to accompany us in our growth, with impact, represents a definite opportunity. Our projects are numerous and our challenges are both in France and internationally. We are really looking forward to start the exchanges to co-construct the Konexio of tomorrow, in terms of territorial presence, as well as innovations, Jean Guo, Founder and CEO @ Konexio

Solinum, a platform and an app for people in great need

Leading the way also on issues of exclusion, Solinum provides the Soliguide platform, which is aimed at people in vulnerable situations and those accompanying them (local associations, social structures, etc.). Created in 2016 by Victoria Mandefield, the nonprofit is present in 25 departments. To enable more local actors to use its services, Solinum is betting on optimizing its platform and on new ways to process the data of the various structures that make up its database.

Solinum has also launched another initiative: Merci pour l’invit’, a platform that brings together hosts with social workers who work with people in extreme poverty. The objectives are simple: offer these people the best chance of reinsertion.

“The successive crises have reinforced the exclusion and vulnerability of people in precarious situations. The long-term support of investment funds such as Ring Capital is necessary to accompany the actors of Solidarity and to face these growing challenges. Thanks to Ring Capital’s support, we will be able to accelerate the development of our activities, particularly in the area of data, and increase our social impact tenfold.”, Victoria Mandefield, Founder & CEO @ Solinum

The Ring Foundation, a financial and hands-on support to address social inclusion issues

Based on the same model of support for portfolio companies, the philanthropic fund Ring Foundation focuses on fast-growing associations with scale challenges. The aim is to offer these young start-ups their entry into an impact-oriented entrepreneurial ecosystem and to leverage synergies.

For 3 years, the associations benefit from Ring Capital’s ecosystem through meetings with entrepreneurs, experts in recruitment, finance, marketing, tech and data to facilitate their move to scale.

Since 2021, Ring Foundation has been supporting Entourage, the social network that works through its LinkedOut application to offer a network to those who don’t have one, and Code Phenix, an association that provides code courses for people in detention before integrating them into its own agency.

“As an impact management company, our job is to identify, invest in and support innovative solutions capable of solving key environmental and social issues for the 21st century. Duplicating this model for nonprofit organizations not only gives them access to an ecosystem, which is a key element in the development of any structure, but also multiplies the impact”, Nicolas Celier, Co-founder and Partner @ Ring Capital
